Since the dawn of time, humans are never far from myths and legends. Folk stories drawn on sides of a cave, trade legends and epics through shows and or chains of word of mouth, or even record them through tablets and temples which lasted until the end of time. It wasn't just a legacy of stories, but also legacies of knowledge. LEGACIES OF EVERYTHING GOOD AND BAD FROM MANKIND.

Now we wonder,
which legacy of her kind belongs to?

Some unconfirmed folklores and documents mentioned that the story went back thousands of years; long before the Spaniards step feet in the Americas, before the Romans step feet in Egypt, or even before the Ark of Noah even existed. The Soul that had been purified by Adam and Eve, one account wrote, passed down to a generation amongst millions, if not, billions of humans that will roam the world. Other accounts mentioned that the essence of the soul holds power unlike others. Those who bestowed such soul shall be blessed with magical powers that formed along their personality: the true soul of a living and the one which laid paths for their lives. We had absolutely no idea if these were truths or myths. Some theorists we spoke to said this and that didn't match up, as well as insufficient clues, names, or lack thereof. But, we got an insight from late historian Charles Landau to dig into more recent occurences, and mercifully we got some materials that he considered confirmed. May God bless his soul.

Let's take a look
at those confirmed historical accounts.

Once upon a time in the Roman era, there was a merchant ship marooned off the coast of Regio Syrtica, current day Tripoli, Libya. Eyewitness accounts from the boat saw a random looking savior in a small fishing raft coming their way. The rider didn't bring anything but himself, dancing under the moonlight with a school of fish following him. Those fishes were blessings for the survivors of the wreck, but they never been able to thank the rider as he went missing thereafter. Archeologists found wood remnants from what would be the merchant ship about 5 miles north of Janzur, Libya; along with decomposed hemp ropes presumably from the raft. Also in the reports, there were fossils of fish within the sand of that area. Our colleagues at Mossad paid a visit and cross-referenced some of the folklores about this magical soul, and they found almost nothing. The only reliable account was that similar legends popped up in Al-Andalus about three centuries later. Al-Andalus is current day Spain and Portugal, so we might have something here.

Al-Andalus lores were, to us, the starting point of this journey.

Spanish records told a story about a family known for its wine who had one of their daughters to be "un prodigio." We will refer as this prodigious daughter as The Princess.

According to popular lores that circulate around that time, The Princess had been gifted an otherworldly power to cure some diseases that plagued Granada. She would come to a sick neighbor with some basic medicine to tend the ill; of which she only spent about few hours. The next day, the unfortunate would recover. Faster than average doctors of that time that may take days or even couldn't save their patient at all.Another popular lore also told about her life after marrying into the renowned Ortega family from Castile. She met a shaman who gifted her a staff that will amplify her abilities as well as to help her walking. However, presumably after that staff had been received, the Ortega family was shaken up. Members fought with each other about their heirloom, including the staff. Sadly, our Princess died in this fight, and the object had been circulating around with a non-zero chance of abuse.

Abuse? That actually happened.

We picked up a report from Cuba that dates back to Spanish-American war era. A Spanish official wrote about a young Jose-Maria Ortega who was witnessed carrying an obnoxious black staff as a weapon, presumably to beat a prisoner of war. The account underlined when he raised the staff and pray to God to give him some power. He physically swung the staff and sadly broke in two pieces. Ashamed, Ortega took the half of the staff and ran away. From an American record, a Navy official retrieved the lower part and kept it as a trophy, although in 1910 it was seized by the Department of Defense and never to be seen again. We wonder where that thing ended up, but for now, we are left with some evidences that the Ortega family still holds the half-staff as heirloom.

Enter Francisca Serrano Ortega.

Francisca Serrano Ortega is the twentieth generation of Ortega family as well as sixth generation of Serrano family. Born to the couple of Miguel Serrano Nunez and Daniella Ortega, she grew unassumingly as a child. Educated well through childhood, then spent teenager in Granada, she developed a love for mysteries, ancient astronaut theories, and boardgames. In short, not much known. However, we began to gather some intelligences that there is something different with this unassuming girl. What we know is that she was the first person to be called by Spanish officials when a strange occurence took place. First we thought "well she's only a geek" up to the point when we saw pictures of her holding a similar staff to what Jose-Maria held during those bloody years; only with a broom stick handle. We immediately stopped an thought "huh, ain't that a surprise?"Long story short, we caught wind about Francisca's Green Card application as well as the letter of acceptance from San Francisco State University's Department of Physics and Astronomy. On the spot, we recommended the USCIS to approve her application and grant a scholarship through our charity trust partner. She now lives in a recently refurbished temple belongs to a monastery in Spain, which she converted it to be used as a library.Writer note: I personally supervise Francisca as she's one of our subject of interest. I can confim that she's just a girl in the neighborhood, except her library is super creepy and got a lot of doors. But anyway, she's doing fine.

From the exterior, Kika is known to have a geeky taste in styling and fashion with a lot of gothic references. Most of the time she wore a shirt, black tie, black snake skin jacket, grey-red vest, blue skirt, and bluish scaled stockings; a weird mix within the weirdest that came from a generation Z. Even more so when she assumed the character of 'Loremaster Urbandawn' and must wear a horned beret, sometimes everywhere.

Sara bint' Ali Ibrahim, or known as Solaire, is an Arab shaman and historian who we presumed as Kika's guide throughout her anomaly part of life. As one of the most important and the most experienced guide in the monastery, Sara was responsible in keeping Kika's overall abilities stable as well as keeping her soul pure from other anomalies. We safely presumed that Kika has made a metaphysical pact with Sara since 2015.

For most parts, Sara's abilities remain unknown and unfathomable. History documented her as an immortal and her stories dated back all the way to the Caliphate era. Within the same documentations, witnesses experienced one of her abilities to be dream casting: when Sara appeared and connected with one's soul through dream as the medium. It is widely believed that the ability had expanded to contain its own realm where one soul can communicate with other souls or switch bodies, all moderated by Sara herself.

Further investigations on Kika's library revealed that it has a water feature in the middle of the property: a fountain to be exact. By Kika's own account, the fountain was built long before the temple around it and used as a holy ground for rituals. Historical documents wrote that whoever throws a dime in it, will experience a world like no other for 20 minutes. However, once thrown, the dime will transformed itself into a pebble. After Kika took over the property, she collected those pebbles and placed them in the same pool as her staff's stone to see if their metaphysical energies can be restored (thought at first can return them as dimes). While the form remained as a pebble, they contained the staff's dimensional power and believed can create a parallel space within a room.

The concurrent lore of ancient magic has attracted hundreds if not thousands of curious wizards and witches to the sacred grounds of Hogwarts from across the world, and it's our job to filter their worthiness to gain such knowledge. We couldn't let it fall to the wrong hand again, not after Isidora and Ranrok. It is unfortunate that their historic records were either destroyed or encrypted in runes. Only patches of them were recovered and retold as fragmented legacies of the past.LEGACIES FROM ONE OR TWO'S MISTAKES LEAD US TO BETTER DECISIONS AFTER ALL.

Now we wonder, were there more of those out of our reach?

Percival Rackham had kindly left us deciphered records buried in the restricted section of Hogwarts Library. As we delve each one at a time, we found a list of names that may have interacted with ancient magic before. One of them is the renowned Arab seer, Sara bint' Ali Ibrahim. At that time, she used a form of ancient magic to foresee imminent future events.

vis: Stargazer (Path to Nowhere)

Sara, colloquially known as Solaire in the wizarding community, had been helping local warlocks win wars, even though the Arab society banned any form of wizardry and magic as it violates shirk law. Enforcers, called 'askar locally, often swept through villages to capture shamans and witch doctors, essentially enforcing sharia by power. Only those in power and the wealthy were able to procure wizarding aids, as they were the only ones that can afford the fines and provide sufficient protection.Solaire, however, had no such privileges. Rackham found her in a shack near Damascus, Syria, hundreds of miles away from the Enforcer's jurisdiction but threatened by Mamluk's soldiers. For extra protection, she had to put concealment charms on the shack out of ancient magic. It was noted that Rackham tried to offer her asylum in Hogwarts, but she refused. Since Rackham's visit, Solaire's whereabouts were tracked through eagle mails, and her last known location was Uagadou.

The next part were from unconfirmed historical accounts.

Please take it with a grain of salt as we tried our best to decipher runes and piece together destroyed records from Rackham and subsequent eras, as well as eyewitness accounts. Our retelling won't be as accurate as it was originally documented. So, the Keepers kept track of everyone who had been in contact with ancient magic, Solaire included, all the way to the next generation before passing the baton to the Ministry. The Figs tried to independently dig deeper into this ancient magic, but their efforts got interrupted by Ranrok. Their documentations ended with Eleazar's passing and no subsequent records afterwards. Then, we found an ancient tablet linked to the Mayans.

The tablet was first discovered by a team led by Jose-Maria Ortega, a muggle who also led a small Spanish skirmish through Mexico in 1754. Part of the tablet were in ancient Mayan, while the other was strangely written in ancient runes. They couldn't crack the rune, so they took it to the Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition, which then it got confiscated.

The Spanish Ministry of Magic caught wind of the tablet.

We procured several interesting notes about the Spanish Ministry of Magic, as it was formed under scrutiny of King Ferdinand II of Aragon. He opposed any form of magic as it went against the Catholic beliefs at that time and deemed it a form of heresy. After an intense political battle, the Ministry refuged to Cordoba, where they, presumably, encountered Solaire for the first time. Our historic accounts strongly suggested that she left Uagadou to Al-Andalus for unknown reasons. What we know afterwards, by the early 1800, Ortega's tablet was in the Ministry's hand and kept in an unknown location ever since. Beauxbatons Academy was granted a copy of the tablet in 1890; researched by the staffs but never the students. There were official documentations from the Spanish Ministry of Magic about Ortega, as he unknowingly married a witch named Nevia Ramos Cenamor. From their marriage, they were gifted a daughter named Lucia Ortega Ramos, our recent subject's great grandmother.

Who is this recent subject?

Her name is Francisca Serrano Ortega, the twentieth generation of Ortega family as well as sixth generation of Serrano family. Born to the couple of Miguel Serrano Nunez and Daniella Ortega, a wizard and a witch, she grew mostly unassumingly as a child. Educated well through childhood, then spent teenager in Granada, she developed a love for mysteries, ancient astronaut theories, boardgames, and even the world of wizardry. Her parents tried to keep the young Francisca's magic ability in the dark for safety, yet the young chose the alternative. We knew that Beauxbatons became a melting pot for European wizards and witches for thousands of years; handling students from countries that have no wizarding schools. However, this didn't stop gifted individuals from "taking a course" to another gifted individuals; this was where our problem starts. Unlicensed, unofficial wizarding courses had no place in our society, matter fact that it was mostly banned as it may jeopardize our secrecy and Muggle safety. But then we have to talk about Solaire.Solaire was, and still is, a gifted shaman. She bestowed an equivocal wizarding skills to Percival Rackham and she could control the ancient form of magic. Since her arrival in Al-Andalus, Solaire rarely surfaced. Some accounts said that she established a monastery close to the Al-Andalus Mosque and charmed the building unplottable. Others said the monastery only accepted witches who had finished their education in Beauxbatons or Hogwarts, but some others said she also accepted apprenticeships. One of those supposed apprentices were young Francisca. We recently contacted the Spanish Ministry of Magic again to confirm the story. Their response was 'Francisca awaited her formal wizarding education and Beauxbatons was running low on quota.' Perhaps, this way, we could fish Francisca and Solaire out of Spain? Nobody knows. But, we had sent her family an invitation to move to Britain, and then to Hogwarts.

Francisca's basic spells aren't the most powerful nor the most unique. She mostly utilizes daily spells such as Accio, Levioso, Depulso, and Stupefy to get through most of her day and or business. However, when her day got a little too sticky, she will eventually cast stronger spells like Ventus/Ventus Duo and Petrificus Totalus. One note, she had swore herself not to use any curse spells, except occasional Imperio towards an inattentive foe. Rosh told her to utilize the Imperius curse 'for fun' during battles or stealth, such as sending the unwilling foe into the water or wander off somewhere.

Area on EffectObject Dependent

Solaire's experience with Ancient Magic opened a path for Francisca to learn how to control and utilize it during battles. She never taught Francisca how to summon a lightning over a foe with it; unlike my great grandmother, and instead told her to throw things at your foe, occasionally. With the ancient power, Francisca could, theoretically, throw any object within the close proximity to her.But of course, this ability has its limits. She could only throw 5 items in succession before 'running out of juice,' of which she had to charge by doing basic spells for 5 successive attacks. Plus, she couldn't throw heavy objects.

━━━━ 3. Pensieve

Apparently, Solaire's way of utilizing Ancient Magic had lesser intentions of harm. A professional seer like Solaire is trusted for their ability to see upcoming future; for most, it was all about luck, wealth, and impending successes. The Ministry, however, has documented several historical misappropriations of seers such as aiding a Muggle empire's war efforts. Her other way of utilizing ancient magic is communications through Pensieves. Francisca was gifted a silvery bowl and a bottle of green liquid similar to a Wiggenweld Potion. One drop of that liquid in the bowl filled with water granted her 5 minutes of non-verbal communications with Solaire. Francisca would then submerge her face and 'see' Solaire, but their conversations are locked between their souls. The Ancient Magic also grants some air for Francisca to breathe. No one can hear them talk. From the outside, it's like watching a weird girl trying to drown herself in a shallow bowl.

━━━━ 4. Other Abilities

Stripped of her magic, Francisca is... Francisca. A curious looking girl who had a knack on books and geeky things. She had moderate strength, moderate defense, and moderate on-foot agility, yet enough wit to perhaps outwit a foe. One thing to note, Francisca is good at keeping herself low profile in most situations.

━━━━ Solaire

vis: Stargazer (Path to Nowhere)

An enigmatic seer, she is. We came up with the name "Sara bint' Ali Ibrahim" for the first time in Percival Rackham's documentations of ancient witchcraft. The modern world, however, acknowledged her as Solaire, the High Priestess of Dreamweavers.Solaire allegedly gained immortality by accident; as her tales recounted on how she was found in a mysterious aquifer after a week of disappearance. Folklore wise, Solaire went under after being chased by the Quraysh; plunged down into a cavernous well that meant to keep 'a repository of ancient magic' in secrecy. She survived, and turned into an inhuman being; or at least, by how she will never age again.Historians confirmed that Solaire had seen 'enough' world, both ours and Muggle's, and decided to keep her head down since the Sultanate Period. She took refuge in Syria, away from Sharia Enforcers, before seeking asylum in Uagadou. Then, somewhat, she moved to Andalusia to establish Basilica Tejedoras de SueΓ±os; anglicized to The Dreamweavers.Further lores suggested that Solaire is a master of wandless magic. We've procured historic documentations from Ollivanders and other wand makers, only to find none under her name. This means, her magic is up to her own accord and control. Our measures would be putting her in a strict supervision, because, if not, Solaire's power can destroy humankind.

Let's call her the Prodigious one, as she came from the only wizarding branch of Winters family. Even when we, the Hamiltons, owe a historic amount of wealth to the Winters clan, we maintained our stance in secrecy and separations between wizards and muggles. Fortunately, we don't have to put our walls up in front of Rosh.Rosh isn't just one of a kind, she's also among the strongest and the most loyal witches we've ever met. She was one of Hogwarts' best students and also a dark horse in the British Auror Office. It was kind of unfortunate that Rosh never apprehended a Death Eater even once; although, Rosh's paintings has proved their worth in our probes, about Death Eaters included. There is one thing about Rosh's stubbornness about teaching in Hogwarts: she will only accept the request if she had to. Rosh famously said that if she said yes, the world is going to end. It's either something really wrong happened in Hogwarts, or the whole world.

Rosh's seriousness somewhat overpowers her warmth and kindness; you'll expect some tense aura as you walk past her. That's why she spent most of the time doing her favorite things like painting or tending herbs. Rosh also confessed that if she ever has to teach Hogwarts, these habits of hers die even harder.
